At the end of the second evening, the game is still open. Notwithstanding the retreat of its right wing, the Russian army holds on. Fightings in the central redoubt have been very hard and the redoubt was lost and conquered many times.
On the Russian right, a single btg fought alone against Swedish hordes. The Swedish right wing , formed by 4 Dragoon units, obliged the Russian left wing and part of the center to be more quiet, but at the end of the evening it payed for the artillery fire and for a command that has not been very lucky nor resolute.
While smokes makes very difficult to give orders to the Commanders, the evening ended with both right wings retreating. To next Friday!

Amazing pictures of very well painted figures. One can almost feel the smell of gun-powder! Interesting also to see so many conversions.

One more comment by the way - where did you get those "gabions" (gunemplacements)? I need some too!

I wrote about those gabions on this blog on december 2008:

They come from a ACW artillery set from Italeri.
Now, I'm preparing new gabions with a very simple and cheap methods that I learned from my friend Phil Viverito, in USA, last Christmas holidays.
I'll post on this blog as soon as I have prepared some of them.
You'll be surprised to see how simple they are....
